More Information This workshop provides an introduction to publishing and being your own music publisher. The program provides students with an understanding of the complexities of music publishing and the various ways compositions generate income, whether from record sales (mechanical royalties), airplay (performance income), sale of sheet music (print income) or the use of your music in a motion picture (synchronization income). The program concludes with an analysis of common provisions in co-publishing, sub-publishing and administration agreements. Sample agreements are provided to aid students with an understanding of key terms and current business practices. In addition,
students learn how to register their works with the Library of Congress. Email a friend
