More Information
Undisputed tango queen María Volonté continues exploring the rich vein of musical treasure that is Argentine music. A Latin Grammy nominee, winner of the Carlos Gardel Prize (Argentina’s Grammy) and a member of the Tango Hall of Fame, Volonté is an artist who is both deeply connected to tango traditions and willing to push the boundaries of the music, ably fusing the roots of tango with jazz and bossa nova.

“Volonté is a good example of an artist who is respectful of her roots yet not afraid to go beyond musty old formulas. Her musical concept is refreshingly broad.” – Los Angeles Times

“María Volonté combines the earthiness of Edith Piaf with the sassiness of Eartha Kitt.” -- Reese Erlich, Jazz Perspectives

“Tango’s shimmering star!” – Global Rhythm magazine
