More Information While best known as a soprano saxophonist, Steve Lacy
was also a prolific composer. Saxophonist Josh Sinton
first encountered this body of work while studying with
Lacy, and, in the summer of 2004, he began organizing
informal playing sessions to try out some of Lacy’s
themes. He quickly formed Ideal Bread, a band that has gone on to be critically recognized as
among the most cohesive in New York City’s music scene (“Best Debut of 2008” — the Village
Voice Critics’ Poll). Featuring Josh Sinton, baritone saxophone; Jorrit Dijkstra,
alto saxophone; Phillip Greenlief, tenor saxophone. With Geoff Harper,
bass and Paul Kikuchi, drums for second set. Email a friend
