Kathryn Roszak's Danse Lumiere creates dances that travel through the visceral, sensual, jazzy and political terrain of Michael McClure's poetry. Images of social justice erupt along with intimate visions of the natural world. Michael McClure is a seminal poet of San Francisco's beat generation. Danse Lumiere is recognized for adapting great works of literature to the stage through the fusion of dance, music, and theater. Roszak's choreography "interprets poetry in eloquent physical language." -- Contra Costa Times. Featuring music by the renowned jazz saxophonist George Brooks.
