Multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger John Calloway
directs the Flute Odyssey, a program of flute music from a wide
variety of cultures, ethnicities and genres. Seven phenomenal
flute players provide different perspectives on an instrument that
has been represented in most cultures since antiquity. Backed by a
piano trio, the group explores jazz, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Mexican
and Andean music. Featuring flautists Tim Barsky, John Calloway,
Quique Cruz, Mary Fettig, Ken Hawkins, Miguel Martinez, and Kenny Stahl. With Murray Low,
piano; Chris Lopes, bass; and David Flores, drums.
