Suling bamboo flute virtuoso Burhan Sukarma and his 10-piece gamelan ensemble, Pusaka Sunda, return to the Jazzschool for a night of gamelan degung music and dance. Pusaka Sunda, which Burhan founded in 1986, provides a voice for Burhan’s own compositions as well as a means for promulgating the traditional music of West Java. All selections feature Burhan’s exquisite flute playing. Traditional dance performed by Margot Lederer. |
