The Jazzschool Vocal Department is very
pleased to present Manhattan Transfer’s
9-time Grammy Award winning vocalist
Janis Siegel. With over ten recordings as a solo artist and over twenty recordings with the Transfer, Ms. Siegel is one of the most successful jazz singers of her generation.
Her down-to-earth spirit and soaring,
crystalline, easily recognizable voice has led to an international performing career spanning three decades. Please bring in two songs of varying feels (ballad, swing, Latin).
Janis will choose one to work on with the students, critiquing with an eye and ear for interpretation and presentation. The workshop concludes with a 30-minute Q & A period.
